Organisers of an annual overseas property exhibition have espoused the impact they have had on consumers in the UK.
A Place in the Sun Live stated that its live events, which have been staged in cities such as London and Manchester, have "championed the cause" of buying property abroad.
Chief executive Darren Styles said the affiliated television show has also contributed, as the A Place in the Sun brand has become a household name.
As a result, he believes public interest in buying abroad has been stimulated and encouraged.
Mr Styles added that the diverse nature of the exhibitions and television programme has helped to fuel the interest in emerging markets outside Europe.
He commented: "We've broken whole new destinations and delivered a broad, multi-layered exhibition that has brought in thousands of new buyers from the mass market."
Nevertheless, a recent poll by A Place in the Sun found that overall, traditional hotspots such as Spain and France remain the most popular locations among British buyers.
