Investors looking for an affordable country in which to buy a new property have been advised to consider Brazil and Argentina.
Compiling a list of some of the world's cheaper places in which to set up home, Shelter Offshore notes that the two South American nations are likely to appeal to British buyers due to a relatively low cost of living.
The website describes both Brazil and Argentina as "stunning havens for those who love fabulous properties, wide open spaces, gorgeous countryside and a way of life that can be as western or as local as you like".
Argentina's profile as a tourism destination is set to receive a boost this year as the country approaches its bicentennial celebrations, with Buenos Aires appearing on many 'must-visit' lists for 2009.
The Independent recently claimed that "Argentina's big, beautiful capital is looking better than ever" and recommended visiting the city in February or March to experience its famous Tango Festival.
