UK investors are increasingly looking to Australian property as a way of securing a higher standard of living and potential returns on investment, it has been advised.
The low cost of Australian property means that potential investors are even more attracted to sunnier climbs, with a recent HiFX property survey showing that the number of enquiries regarding possible investment in the country have doubled over the past 12 months.
The availability of long term lets was also an attractive factor, suggested Paul McMullan of Escapes2.com.
"I think price is driving it a lot and rental returns ? it's easy to get long-term lets out there. You're not banking so much on the holiday market ? you're looking at buying it like you would over in the UK," he suggested.
"I think they've looked at Australia because it?s a stable country. There's a lot of room to build houses over there. You can get a three bed detached house with a pool for about £150,000 in Australia," the web manager concluded.
