Conditions within the Australian property market are improving, according to one expert, who suggests that some areas can provide significant gains for investors.
Writing for MoneyManagement.com, Warren O'Rourke, national corporate affairs manager at Mortgage Choice, says that 2007 has seen an "upward swing" in prices that is expected to continue over the next few years.
However, Mr O'Rourke argues that property buyers are unlikely to find short-term investments within the market successful and so they should consider long-term ventures instead.
"Over the long term, there are many regions where good gains can be made if the buyer researches well and identifies the strengths and weaknesses involved," he comments.
In order to make a "healthy" profit from Australian property, investors should be thinking of a five to ten-year investment, he adds.
Jeremy Knight, owner of Knight Knox International, recently said that British Investors are attracted to the Australian market because it has greater stability that the UK's housing sector.
