The affordability of property in Australia has been highlighted by an expatriate from the UK.
Rebecca Leeson sold her two-bedroom end terrace house in Northamptonshire in order to relocate to Australia.
Speaking to the Sun, she revealed that money from the sale was able to go much further outside of the UK, as she was able to buy a house with three double-bedrooms.
The disparity was further highlighted when she compared the amount land each house has.
Ms Leeson described her old back garden as "postage stamp-sized", whereas she now has an acre of land attached to her Australian property.
She added that living costs in the country are fairly similar to those in the UK, although she did single out a number of notable exceptions.
For example, she said petrol is much cheaper in Australia, as is public transport and clothes on the high street.
Earlier this month, Paul Arthur of The Emigration Group told the Daily Star that Australia has attracted 23,906 expats from the UK in the last year.
