Dubai is Already Famous for it's Architectural InnovationsHome to the biggest and the best; the lavish and the extreme, Dubai is tipped to be the location of yet another spectacular creation, this time designed by innovative Italian designers, The Giancarlo Zema Design Group.   Specialising in semi-submerged architecture, the Group is famed for its ground-breaking architectural designs and is attracting high-level investor attention with its latest project.

Amphibious 100 is planned as a semi-submerged luxury hotel resort, extending horizontally for 1km into the sea and linked to the land by two low bridges, giving the appearance that the 250,000 metre square resort is actually floating on the water.  Although it’s not yet been revealed where the project will actually be built, with an appearance remarkably resembling Dubai’s “The Palm Islands”, Dubai would be a fair guess!

Amphibious 100 will be divided into a land and a sea section, with a central hotel structure, a congress area, marine park, museum of marine life and a luxury spa centre.  Besides a marina with a harbour, the land section will include the resort’s residential units and offices.

No less than four semi-submerged hotels, each offering 75 luxury suites, will be located in the sea section.  The hotels will don huge diagonal windows and underwater aquariums, providing all guests with a unique view of marine life.  External and internal arms form the skeleton of the resort design, with the exterior arms protecting it from the elements and 80 floating suite “pods”, called “Jellyfish” attached to the interior arms. Each of these “Jellyfish” will open into magnificent underwater views, contributing to the Group’s intended image of a giant aquatic animal stretching out from the land into the sea.
