An overseas property portal that promotes international real estate has reported increased activity in the Brazilian market.

Homesgofast.com said that the property market in Brazil is changing as buyers move away from off-plan investments in favour of land purchases.

The firm said that the company has bought some beach-front land in Cumbuco, in the Fortaleza area of Brazil, and sold most of it within a year.

"We've been advertising Brazil property for three years now. This year we've seen increased activity," commented spokesman Nicholas Marr.

He urged buyers to consider investing in Forteleza, which is proving to be a hit with South American holidaymakers.

"And just generally, the cost of living is very low. Beer is 60p. It's an attractive place as well," he added.

Fortaleza, which is located in north-eastern Brazil and has a population of over 2.4 million, is served by the Pinto Martins International Airport.
