Property investors thinking of making a purchase in Brazil have been informed that the process is "relatively easy".
According to nuwireinvestor.com, the fact that foreign buyers can acquire property in their own name on a 100% freehold basis is "rare for an emerging market", with the ownership of property an absolute right which is included in the Brazilian constitution.
The website notes that buying property in Brazil is often problem-free because foreign nationals generally enjoy the same rights as the natives, even if they are non-residents.
Although some specific circumstances will restrict property ownership, nuwireinvestor.com also notes that real estate registration in Brazil is "well-developed and safe", while property rights and titles are secure.
The website adds: "Brazil has a clear and flexible planning context, based on a policy of 'high-priority sustainable development'."
Brazil's Central Bank recently pushed its estimate of GDP growth for 2008 up from 5% to 5.6%, the Associated Press reports.
