A government official in Brazil has announced new plans to improve the management of the country's beauty spots.
The South American nation currently hosts a number of national parks, such as Serra dos Orgaos in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
According to Brazzil Mag, 6 federal preservation units across the country are set to benefit from more than £15 million of government fundings.
Environment minister Carlos Minc said this will go towards the creation of new guided trails, visitor centres and other tourist amenities.
This, he said, will ensure that Brazil's national parks can be enjoyed by visitors without a significant environment cost.
Mr Minc commented: "The aim is to increase the level of protection and enjoyment, and make a profit at preservation units."
This comes after figures cited by Brazzil Mag revealed that between January and June 2008, more that 3.2 million foreign nationals chose to visit the country.
