In news that may interest those investing in property, a new initiative has been launched to encourage more Britons to visit Brazil.
Brazilian tourist board Embrataur will stage a roadshow at the end of this month, which will be aimed both at travel agents and tourists, reports Worldwide Visa bureau.
The show will visit London, Manchester and Liverpool, providing information about the country and its attractions, as well as information such as the fact that UK citizens do not need a visa to visit the country.
Such a boost to Brazilian tourism may be good news for property investors, particularly those looking to buy in waterfront locations such as near beaches and lagoons.
As well as promoting itself abroad, Brazil's tourist industry could be set to benefit from new government measures at home.
One of the provisions of the new General Tourism Law will be to make available public money to help tourist companies with training, investment and the improvement of facilities, reports Gazeta Mercantil.
The new law is due to be rubber-stamped by President Lula today, the paper notes.
