Brazil tipped as top investment hotspot

Brazil will be the best place in the world to buy overseas property in 2010, an expert has stated.

Head of research at investment firm Property Frontiers Christopher Chadd said the country has a range of circumstances in its favour.

He remarked: "Brazil can do no wrong. A huge housing shortage, huge natural reserves and a fast growing economy combined with a rapid emerging middle class mean that Brazil is the place to invest."

Interest in the country may also be partly due to it hosting two major sporting events in the coming decade, the 2014 football World Cup and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Earlier this month, sales and business development manager at overseas property firm the International Homes Network Toby Simcox commented that Brazil is a "hotspot" for investors.

He stated that an "influx" of enquiries are expected after Rio won the right to host the 2016 games earlier this year.
