Brazil has been listed as the leading destination for property buyers by an overseas investment firm.
Homesgofast.com said the country has been generating a higher level of interest in recent months than anywhere else, particularly after Rio de Janeiro was awarded the 2016 Olympic Games.
Chief executive Nick Marr stated: "The Olympic effect has seen investment from all over the world and Brazilian property is hotter than ever right now as investors seek to get in early."
He added that the best place to go is the north-east, which is far away from areas with high crime and also offers good "exit opportunities" in which investors who want to sell will find both locals and foreigners willing to buy.
The firm placed the South American country as its leading destination for investors in 2010, ahead of France with the US in third.
Fellow investment company Homes Overseas has listed the same top three as the places to go, although the rest of its top ten differs.
However, both include Australia, Abu Dhabi in the UAE and football World Cup host South Africa.
