Brazil's tourism sector has been tipped to experience further growth this year, according to industry analysts.

The Brazilian Travel Agency Association stated that it is expecting visitor numbers to rise by 10% in 2008, reports Brazzil Mag.

This, it said, is despite a slight drop in the number of "low-income" holidaymakers in recent months, a development it has attributed to recent exchange rate movements.

According to spokesperson Leonel Rossi, this drop is "not very high" and not impeding overall growth in the tourism sector.

However, he added that more needs to done to promote the South American nation in other countries.

"There needs to be greater advertisement for Brazil abroad," he commented.

This comes after Brazzil Mag cited official figures showing that during the first half of the year, the country attracted more than 3.2 million visitors.

Statistics indicated that this is 2.67% higher than the amount recorded between January and June 2007.
