There are many reasons why Brazil is currently an attractive holiday destination for Britons, an expert has stated.
According to Tom Falcao, the general manager of the Brazilian tourist office in London, there are good links from Lisbon, Portugal to any capital in the north-east of Brazil, with flights taking around seven hours.
These north-eastern capitals are also well-prepared for tourists, he stated, news which could be of interest to foreign property investors.
"They all have a very good infrastructure for tourism; all the hotels, food and things like that are very well organised," he remarked, adding: "Due to the exchange rate the pound can go a long way."
Mr Falcao also noted that there are many attractions that interest tourists, such as two 19th century opera houses built in the Amazonian jungle.
Recently, Paulo Wrobel of the country's London embassy suggested that Brazil is coping better with the economic downturn than the US, UK and Europe.
