Olympic gold medal winning cyclist Sir Chris Hoy has purchased a property in Brazil.
He told the Telegraph that the country was particularly suited to cycling and training because "the weather is always pretty good" and "the roads are good".
According to Sir Chris - who won three gold medals at the Beijing Olympics last year - the house is "ideal for my purposes" and he plans to use it to train and for holidays.
It is still under construction and he intends to visit Brazil soon to see how it is progressing, adding that he hoped that it would prove to be a strong investment in the long term.
Brazil was under Portuguese rule for over 300 years until its gained independence in 1822, becoming the largest and most populous nation in South America.
The country is the leading economic power in the region and covers a range of different terrain, including beaches, rainforests, mountains and lowlands.
