The site is adjacent to a giant sea turtle sanctuary where the protected species come to lay their eggs and the developer is collaborating with the Belmonte authorities in order to assist in their protection. Additionally the River Jequitinhonha flowing through ‘little Amazonia’ spills into the Atlantic just a few minutes from the resort and eco-trip river cruises will be made available for residents.
