The name Fortaleza means fortress. After the Dutch were expelled, the city changed its name a few times, finally opting to settle for the name ?Fortaleza?.

Two words define the capital of Ceara State; fun and party. Sun is absolute on 25 kilometres of beaches. Fortaleza is the Brazilian coastal city with the most sunny days throughout the year.
