International Investors Wooed By Property In Brazil
Nordetse Invest 2008, a government sponsored initiative to promote the development of property in Brazil's north east belt, is aimed at bringing in foreign investment to capitalise on the tourism potential of property in Brazil.
Whilst the government is keen that not all the fertile, resource rich property in Brazil falls in foreign hands, it recognises the need for international participation to optimise property in Brazil. Brazil property has recently appeared on the radar of foreign investors searching for emerging, yet secure markets, to channel their funds. Hyperinflation and political crises are things of the past. President Lula's pragmatic economic direction has made Brazil the darling of foreign investors and property in Brazil has been the major benefactor. Brazil has displayed strong immunity to international crises such as the ongoing sub-prime crisis. Moreover, capital values of property in Brazil continue to rise despite downswings in neighbouring countries. This prompted Equity International Chief Executive Gary Garrabrant to label Brazil "the nimble sprinter among emerging markets."
Foreign investment in property in Brazil is doing great things for the economy. As money pours into property in Brazil, new developments have begun mushrooming in the commercially vibrant south and tourist oriented north. The fertile lands along Natal's coast too have been top draws amongst international investors seeking property in Brazil. Apart from merely purchasing investment property in Brazil, investors are also eager to participate in the massive infrastructure projects underway today. At Nordeste Invest 2008, foreign and Brazilian investors explored ways to leverage the tourism potential of property in Brazil's north east. Last year the event resulted in foreign investment of US$ 187.8 million in property projects in Brazil which included enterprises like resorts, hotels, apartments and houses. This year investors from Portugal, Spain, England, Germany, Ireland and Panama were also invited and it is hoped that there will be much higher investment in property in Brazil.
