Riverland Ski & Leisure Resort is a unique new development with its own infrastructure and great location. The development is located between Bistritsa River and City Park of Samokov. It will be a free car environment and will be a turn aside from the main road, ending with parking facilities and it will be situated on area of 56100sq.m.

In order to develop and win recognition for itself as preferred destination for ski tourism and vacation in the next few years Borovets will be enlarged by the Super Borovets project. The resort will be divided into three levels, as follows:
Level 1 or Low Borovets: It will be situated at 1100m above the sea level, just outside of Samokov. This area will cater for the less economically well off tourists, but will have good connections and transport with Borovets and the main ski area. This project will provide around 5000 hotel rooms.
Level 2 or Middle Borovets: It will be situated at 1300-1350m above the sea level. It consists of the existing Borovets with extensive investment and development. This will provide around 10000 hotel rooms and will remain as the main accommodation area.
Level 3 or High Borovets: It will be situated at 1600-1800m above the sea level and will cater for those looking for 5 star hotels and luxury experience, however it will provide no more than 2500 hotel rooms.
Once achieved, this project will turn Borovets into a year round resort for rest and recreation. During the winter one can enjoy winter sports. The plan is to be build 12 new lifts for the transfer of 15600 skiers per hour. The new project aims at 19 new ski runs with total length of 95km and a snowboard pipe with length of 1240m. Two new cable cars will be constructed, one of which will connect the town of Samokov to Sokolets Peak and Markudjitsi.
