The latest travel documentary from Michael Palin could trigger of surge of interest in eastern Europe, according to an expert.
Daniel Pawlyn of adventure holiday website Intrepid said the new BBC2 series would raise the profile of eastern European countries in the UK and lead to more people visiting them for their holidays.
This could potentially have the knock-on effect of people choosing to invest in rental property and holiday homes in these markets.
Mr Pawlyn commented: "The great thing about the way Michael Palin travels is that he really gets under the skin of a country; travelling on local transport, staying in traditional accommodation and generally doing what the locals do."
Across seven episodes, the former Python is seen visiting many countries behind the old Iron Curtain, including many former Soviet countries.
