Bulgaria's Sophia News Agency has proudly announced price rises in prime locations within the city over the past six months. Six months ago land prices per square metre stood at 820 euros while today they have increased to 1,850 euros and continue to rise. Investors would be wise to follow the example of the locals who are the main buyers in Sofia, while the British are sticking to the more saturated coastal and ski resorts like Bansko where yields are also very encouraging (12% gross).
Bulgaria seems to be ready for EU status sooner rather than later, with much movement in the commercial sector which has had a significant impact on property investments in Sophia.
