The Bulgarian property market is on the up and is similar to Spain's strong performance a decade ago, according to one expert.
Jon Hill, director of Knight Frank International, has said that Bulgaria, particularly the capital of Sofia, is a good location for investors looking to make a long-term investment.
Waterfront locations and ski resorts in Bulgaria are also good places to invest in property, he remarked.
However, he cautioned those investors looking to make a very quick return by pointing out that it can take a few years before a property appreciates in value.
But, he added, by researching an area, buying a property and holding onto it for a long period, investors are almost certain to a see good return on their investment.
According to holiday firm Neilson, Bulgaria is increasingly appealing to couples and families who want to enjoy a skiing holiday.
