Bulgaria 'is a good place to invest'

Overseas property buyers have been advised to consider potential investment opportunities in Bulgaria.

According to Quest Bulgaria, the eastern European country is currently a very good place in which to buy a residence.

Chris Goodall, editor of the magazine, added that the recent media storm surrounding the market has been over-egged.

The press has recently suggested that many foreign property buyers have found the process of investing in Bulgaria a "nightmare", while some outlets have also said people have been "ripped off".

"That is not our experience," Mr Goodall commented.

"We have done our own opinion poll, with only 3.7 per cent of people buying over here saying the experience was beset by problems."

This comes after Bulgaria was flagged up as a good market to consider by Aston Lloyd, which said property values are relatively affordable when compared with many other markets.
