Ryanair flights to Bulgaria confirmed

Budget airline Ryanair has confirmed that it will be commencing flights between London Stansted airport and Plovdiv in Bulgaria from November this year.

It will be the first time Ryanair has operated flights to Bulgaria from Stansted.

The announcement will come as good news to anyone considering property investment in Bulgaria as it could help boost tourism to the country.

Flights will run between the two cities twice weekly and it has been forecast that if the route is successful, over 200,000 passengers could be travelling via it by 2013.

In a media statement quoted by the Sofia Echo, the airline said: "Ryanair is delighted to announce its first Bulgarian connection from London Stansted to Plovdiv to provide Bulgarian consumers and British visitors the guaranteed lowest fares from/to Bulgaria."

"The new route will ensure that Plovdiv and its regional tourism will develop further," it added.
