Business Description
We offer a wonderful and stylish hotel in a village set on a high plateau between the towns of Veliko Tarnovo (four kilometres away) and Gorna Oryahovitsa. The village is known for the rich history and large number of historical monuments, such as 17th and 18th century churches and examples of Bulgarian National Revival architecture, which have turned it into a popular tourist destination.
Veliko Turnovo is the town with the most glorious historical past in Bulgaria. It is a symbol of Bulgarian statehood and a source of national pride for every Bulgarian. Each little place in it is history. The earliest traces were found on the Trapezitsa Hill (dating back to first half of the 3rd millennium BC). Remnants on Tsarevets Hill date back to the end of the Bronze Era (13th century BC). This oldest settlement was inhabited by Thracians and existed by the end of the Iron Era. Its prosperity is related to 6th century BC till 1st century AC. Its traces in the first centuries of the Roman Rule are lost on our lands (at the beginning of the new era).
Magnificent palaces, monasteries, churches, fortifications, bridges, big houses were built here. All the prosperity and spiritual upsurge was discontinued on 17th July 1393, when after a 3month siege Veliko Turnovo, and gradually the whole of Bulgaria succumbed under Ottoman Rule... The Metropolitan town was in ashes. Centuries were to pass before the town was able to recuperate and experience a new economic, cultural and political upsurge during the Revival period.
The oldest houses in the village are made entirely of stone and resemble tiny models of fortresses that cannot be seen anywhere else in Bulgaria. These houses have internal staircases and small windows with metal bars, which strengthen the impression of fortress-like constructions.
The hotel that we offer also follows the requirements for construction in the village so that its architecture will make you feel as part of history. The materials used for the facade are traditional – stone and wood, the walls are whitewashed and old-Bulgarian tiles are used.
The property benefits from a 1700 sq. m cultivated garden planted with trees and shrubs.
A reception, foyer, bar, staff rooms, sanitary units, a kitchen with storage premises for the restaurant and boiler room are situated on the under-ground level.
The upper floor that faces south and overlooks the inner yard has a restaurant, foyers and hotel rooms. There is also a mansard floor also with hotel rooms and two suites.
