The road connection between Sofia and Bourgas through Plovdiv will pass through the project for the Trakia highway. The location of Nova Zagora municipality favors its economic development. Grain and corn crops are grown on 60 % of the agricultural fund; industrial crops - on 29 %; vines and orchid massifs - on 8%; vegetable gardens - 2%. The natural meadows and pastures are about 98,000,000 sq. m. The major sights are located in the northern part of the municipality. Such are the stone formations Orlov Kamuk, the picturesque branches of the Toundzha River, and the remains from the Roman fortress near Zhrebchevo Dam Lake. The Thracian mounds in the village of Karanovo and the village of Dyadovo provoke great interest on the part of western archeologists and are a good prerequisite for attracting investments. The most commonly existing coniferous trees are common pine, Austrian pine and spruce. The animal world in the region is also quite diverse. Two thermal springs of water temperature from 20 to 65°? have been discovered. The Korten spa have proved their healing qualities in the treatment gastric and intestinal disorders, gall and liver disorders, disorders of the locomotory system and the peripheral nervous system. There are a total of about 200 beds in several hotels, holiday houses, chalets near Zhrebchevo Dam Lake and two motels so there is a big unoccupied niche for hotel business in the region. There are potential opportunities for developing health, holiday, cultural and ecotourism. Cognitive, business and conference tourism could also be developed. Along the Toundzha River in the outskirts of the village of Banya, around Zhrebchevo Dam Lake there are conditions for fishing, rest and recreation. The horse-riding stables facilities provide opportunities for horse sports and swimming.
