It is a Karst cave form and its name comes from the unusually low temperatures even in the hottest summer months. The favorable transitional Mediterranean climate, the rare combination of pine-trees, silver birches, spruces, beech-trees, oak trees and horn beams, the natural game farms for breeding of deer, roe deer, mouflons, wild boars and the rivers full of fish, make the area a piece of paradise for the nature lovers, fishermen, and hunters.
To the lovers of skiing The Rhodopes offer their pearl resort of Pamporovo within an hours drive from the village.
