Cape Verde has witnessed "massive growth" in terms of property investment and accounts for a large proportion of business at overseas property brokers, according to Escapes2.com.
One of the reasons the destination has become more popular with investors is the expansion of flight from the UK to the island of Sal, said spokesman Paul McMullen.
He said there are also plans to expand flights to other locations, such as Boavista and then to other islands, which are likely to increase investor interest.
"The main attractions for UK investors are the transport links and the year round climate like the Caribbean," he commented.
According to Mr McMullen, Cape Verde has seen strong capital growth of 15 per cent over the past year.
"For rental properties it is an excellent place to invest and is very similar to the Canary Islands," he added.
The Cape Verde group of islands was recently placed in a top ten list of emerging countries for property investment by Expedia.com.
