An airport in Cape Verde has re-opened, something that could boost property investment in the buy-to-let holiday sector there.
San Pedro Airport on the island of Sao Vicente is taking flights again after a three-year, USD40 million (GBP24.7 million) refurbishment project, Macauhub reports.
As a result, the islands now have four international airports and the capacity of San Pedro is substantially larger than it was before.
The runway can now accommodate aircraft such as Boeing 737s and 757s, as well as Airbus A310s, A319s and A321s.
Its terminal is also able to handle 500 passengers per hour and covers 11,000 sq m across three floors.
Those keen on investing in Cape Verde holiday property may also be encouraged by a recent Daily Telegraph feature on the best 'alternative' places to go for a winter break.
It said the archipelago "appeals to windsurfers, walkers and music-lovers", recommending that people try island-hopping to enjoy a variety of landscapes.
