Cyprus is retaining its character despite its increasing reputation as a tourist destination, it is claimed.
According to Buy Abroad sales director Paul Tomlin, investors are attracted to island's individual culture, in addition to its "comfy" English-speaking areas.
UK investors are considered to be attracted to the region because of its legal system, where contracts are made in English, in addition to its good climate and its English-speaking public.
However, Mr Tomlin does not believe the island has gained the reputation of being a "trashy holiday" destination for tourists, noting: "On the whole, Cyprus is quite a middle to upper class island."
"The island is still keeping its character … It still has an appeal to people because of its own charm," he added.
Meanwhile, ahead of the region's adoption of the euro on January 1st 2008, the Cyprus government has said it is to intensify its awareness campaign, with all businesses obliged to present prices in both the euro and the Cyprus pound by September 1st 2007, the Financial Mirror reports.
