An increasing number of engaged couples are choosing to hold their wedding ceremony in Cyprus.
WeddingsAbroad.com stated that since the island was accessible via a short flight from the UK, it was proving to be a convenient as a place in which to get married.
This could prove to be beneficial to overseas property investors in the area, as the happy couple's guests would need rental accommodation.
The site added that the short journey time would be a benefit to the couple, as many would be bringing guests who were not used to flying.
Ron Cropper, spokesperson for WeddingsAbroad.com, said: "Maybe the granny who's never flown before might want a close destination."
However, he said that journey times would only be an issue for those people who were taking guests with them, as many would not consider it important otherwise.
According to Saga, Cyprus is one of the most popular places for elderly people to retire to, along with Spain and Portugal.
