The overseas property market in Cyprus could become more popular among investors due to new cheap flights to the region.
Jet2.com has announced that a twice-weekly service will travel between Leeds Bradford International Airport and Paphos, which it said should boost tourism in Cyprus.
By making the island more accessible to people in Yorkshire and surrounding counties, it is also likely to become more appealing to overseas investors as a result.
Ed Anderson, managing director of Leeds Bradford International Airport, described the development as "stunning news" for the region.
He commented: "It represents the largest number of new routes ever added to the airport's portfolio in a single announcement."
Mr Anderson added that the move would give both business and leisure travellers a "superb choice" of destinations from their local airport.
This comes after Obelisk International suggested that overseas property buyers look at budget airline routes to identify potentially good investments.
