Budget Cyprus flights 'creates opportunities for investors'
Article Date : 11 October 2007
The launch of new direct flights to Cyprus could create new investment opportunities on the island.
Budget airline Flyglobespan has just announced the imminent launch of a direct service to the Paphos Airport, which could lead to an increase in the number of tourists flying to the destination.
If this occurs, the area is likely to become subject to greater scrutiny from overseas property investors, as the fast-growing market has already become highly popular in recent years.
The new service will begin flying out from Durham Tees Valley Airport next year, offering cheap and direct travel to people in the surrounding regions.
Tom Dalrymple, chairman of Flyglobespan, commented: "We have high hopes that it will prove a popular choice for holidaymakers from the north-east."
Overseas property investors were recently advised to monitor the movements of budget airlines by the Telegraph newspaper, which said that new destinations were likely to experience future growth.
