More than one million UK tourists are choosing to take their holidays in Cyprus each year, according to a newspaper report.
The Telegraph stated that factors such as its good climate and its similarities to home were proving to be highly attractive to consumers from Britain.
Numerous commonalities between Cyprus and the UK were identified, such as the requirement for people to drive on the left and road signs being written in English.
This could be due to various factors, such as high visitor numbers resulting in a greater need for rental accommodation, as well as some people opting to buy a holiday home for their own personal use.
Cyprus' appeal as an overseas investment hotspot could also enhance as a result of its forthcoming entry into the single European currency.
