Owners of rental property in Cyprus will be likely to welcome the government's latest comments on boosting the tourist sector.
Cypriot president Tassos Papadopoulos said he wanted to increase efforts to promote the country as a holiday destination abroad, the Financial Mirror reports.
This, he stated, would help put Cyprus on the international tourism map and attract more foreign leisure travellers.
If this occurs, the island's appeal as an investment spot is likely to be significantly enhanced, as this would raise the likelihood of collecting strong rental returns.
Furthermore, high demand for property in Cyprus will be likely to lead to an increase in property values across the country.
This comes after the Telegraph predicted that the recent change from pounds to euros would also boost Cyprus's appeal to foreign property buyers, due to factors such as favourable interest rates and rising house prices.
