Holidaymakers from across Europe are continuing to take their holidays in Cyprus, official figures have revealed.
Data cited by the Financial Mirror showed that the country had attracted people of various nationalities during the last year.
Britons were found to make up the largest proportion of foreign visitors, although a large number of Germans was also recorded.
The figures also showed that Cyprus was an appealing holiday destination to people from countries such as Russia and Greece.
In addition, the overall number of foreign arrivals for the year to date was placed at 2.34 million - 0.5 per cent higher than during the first 11 months of 2006.
The release of the data comes as Cyprus prepares to strengthen its international ties by changing its currency.
New Year's Day will see the island join the euro, a move that comes almost four years after it entered the European Union.
