Like most of the areas of North Eastern Cyprus, Bogaz is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The region offers some of the finest beaches in the whole of Cyprus and indeed some judge that the golden beaches of the Karpaz peninsular are amongst the finest in Europe if not the world. The clean clear waters that wash against the golden sandy beaches attract endangered species of green sea turtles that return every year to nest, so conservation and protection of the environment is of a high priority in this region. Ercan Airport can be reached within 40 minutes or so, and the historic city of Famagusta is a short drive along the scenic coastal road heading west. Bogaz offers a unique atmosphere in Cyprus, and is becoming a popular choice for both holiday and permanent residences. Around the harbour can be found a first class selection of restaurants and bars where one can enjoy a pleasant drink or a meal as you survey the activities in the harbour or watch the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean lap onto the beach.
