(STI) Santiago also known as "Cibao International" near Santiago de los Caballeros, the island's 2nd largest city

Direct charter flights go to the Dominican Republic from Canada and most European airports, including Madrid (MAD and Paris (CDG), with journey time from the UK totaling approximately 9½ hours. Flights from the USA leave New York, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Philadelphia, San Juan, Atlanta and Charlotte.

Upon arrival, you will be charged USD 10 for a tourist card, which can also be paid in Euros only. Remember, there will also be a departure tax of USD 20 in cash, payable on most charter and some scheduled flights - your airline should give you full details.

By Boat

A 12 hour ferry ride connects Mayaguez in Puerto Rico with Santo Domingo. Departing at around 8 pm. the boat arrives in the Dominican Republic at around 8 am. the following morning.
