Is a visa required to enter England?

Foreigners are allowed to enter the UK without a visa. They must hold a valid passport and UK immigration officials will decide on the length of stay, up to six months, depending on the reason for travel. For stays longer than six months regarding employment, study or tourism, a visa is required and must be obtained in advance.
