Hi john,

I would recommend on North Cyprus, as it's where all the attention and resources go to now. There are some companies that just went out with new interesting offers.

There is no place like home...

Hi John,

We do have a large range of both off plan and resale property in Southern Cyprus on the site as you may already have seen, http://www.propertyshowrooms.com/cyprus/

Northern Cyprus I am afraid we have refrained from listing, the reasons being that aside from understandably upsetting a number of Southern Cypriot agents and individuals, I have been sent a copy of a document as issued by the United Nations stating the political situation there currently, and the knock on effect that has with respect to the ownership of property, be it by nationals, former nationals, or indeed foreigners is somewhat questionable at best.

Having said this, I do have an agent that can and will accomodate those looking for Northern Cyprus property, if you would like to submit a general enquiry on the following page,

http://www.propertyshowrooms.com/cyprus/property/cyprus-general-enquiry.asp

I will be more than happy to forward your contact details to them.

Dear Property showrooms,

what a hypocrite. Whats the difference between you listing the properties or reffering him on. You have ahd the UN information advising not to, yet you still want to pass on this poor chap and get him into no end of trouble, with a risk of losing everything.

John, don't even consider the North Cyprus, it is politically and legally unsafe, just check the website of the British Foreign office for advice.

You need to stay away from crooked people like the property show rooms and others that direct you in that direction. After it will be blood money for them.

Stay legal stay south. There are amny properties to suit your taste and budget in the South, its not worth the risk, even if the prices are tempting. There is a reason for the low prices, generally associated with stolen goods.

Good Luck.

FSB,

This forum is here to allow balanced discussion and provide and share information. My post clearly states and comments upon the situation in the North, and no biased is made towards nor against it. The fact that property is available for purchase in both regions is all that was being stated, whilst pointing out that as you have already stated, which is appreciated.

What is not appreciated however is accusatory comments of Propertyshowrooms acting in a "crooked" fashion, the statement made previously does highlight the status currently and clear reasons why we do not currently accept listings in the region. The offer to refer someone to an agent covering the North is in no way an attempt to recommend a purchase in either region, more specifically to proved the enquirer with a balance of information and comparison from both regions, whilst also stating clearly the facts at hand, and allowing the enquirer to make an educated decision.

peter,

You referring him on to the north is akin to referring him to the man in the pub who can do dodgy gear cheap. please don't patronise me with your sorry excuses. You even bothered to say you had the warnings from the UN, yet you still send this fella on, God the bloody cheek! Like I said the north is politically and legally unsafe and you blinking well know that.
Your advice would have been excellent had you warned him about the problems and not sent him on.

if you think that referring people to this area is good advice then I hate to hear what advice you must give to your clients. Please do us a favour and stop digging yourself a deeper hole mate.

I said my piece end of, it's there for all to see.

Have a nice day!

Hi Everybody,

Speaking through experience...i bought my perfect 3 bed villa in Paphos around 2 years ago from a company named 'Property Abroad'. At first i didnt really know what investment type i was looking for. I had no route to go down as i just couldnt make up my mind! but Property Abroad helped me with this they gave me tips and helped me find a property which best suited me.

As i have spent the past 2 years here on this beautiful island ive experienced quite alot of the places in Cyprus. If you're still looking to invest in a property in Cyprus it all depends on a range of things such as weather, investment type, entertainment etc. As i like to think of my self as an older teen (25!) i prefer the more lively places such as Paphos, Larnaca and Ayia Napa. Here there are a range of different restaurants, nightclubs, arcades for the children and shops etc. In these regions you're mainly going to find more apartments than any other investment type and mainly afew villas dotted about the island usually owned by the Cypriots. If you're looking for a quiet quality of life then i'd recommend regions such as Limassol, Peyia and Polis. Here the main investment types are villas and houses and not so much apartments. These 3 regions have only a short ride into the main town where you can find the main attractions.

In my opinion Cyprus is a perfect place to live for people young and old, the tourism factor every year is increasing. So if you're looking to invest in a property in Cyprus then don't hesitate! Id deffinately recommend Cyprus and most deffinately the company i bought my villa from.
