Investing in property in France is something Britons are still keen to do, it has been stated.
Estate agency Stuart Baldock of buying agent Property Vision told the Daily Telegraph that many UK buyers have been held back from buying in the country recently due to the weak value of the pound.
However, the paper noted, it is not expected that this situation will last, as sterling is gaining in strength against the euro and the appeal of France has not diminished.
Summarising the benefits of the country to the paper, owner of a home once lived in by singer Edith Piaf Rupert Scott said: "At the end of the day, the tax is still cheaper and you get more house and land for your money."
Speaking as publisher Archant announced a French property exhibition to be held in London in September, editor of French Property News Karen Tait remarked that recent falls in French prices are "outweighing" the weakness of the pound.
