Airline routes are now serving more areas than ever before, including French ski resorts, a property consultant has said.
This means that investors can capitalise on year-round investments rather than just at traditional peak times, according to VEF managing director Trisha Mason.
However Ms Mason commented that people only see ski resorts as a good investment during the season and most purchase enquiries take place during this time.
"The growth of airline routes has meant that many ski areas are now easily accessible throughout the year," she said.
"This gives the investor a greater chance for summer rental income as well as ski season income."
She said an option for some was a leaseback or guaranteed-rental investment property, where the owner leases the property back to a management company which will rent and manage the property.
Ailsa Ogilvie, director of Heyday, a retirement advisory organisation, warned recently that French property laws were different from those in the UK, although people often assumed they were the same.
