Paris remains a highly popular location among overseas property investors, experts have stated.

BuyAssociation stated that the suburbs of the French capital were especially sought-after, as investors could let these homes to commuters working in the city.

Paris was also highlighted as a good investment spot because of the ease of getting there from the UK.

The website praised the Eurostar for its short journey times, as well as the airlines for offering frequent flights.

Paul Collins, overseas property editor at the site, commented: "Eurostar is the quickest way to get there because it just delivers you straight into the city.

"And the airports aren't that far out of the city," he added.

According to the Economist, the property market for the whole country grew by 87 per cent in the years from 1997 to 2005.
