Travel industry experts have tipped France to see a surge in tourist numbers next year.
According to the Association of Independent Tour Operators (Aito), the recent Rugby World Cup has led to increased levels of interest in visiting the country.
The sporting event placed France firmly on the international stage earlier this year, acting as a showcase for cities such as Paris, Lyon and Marseille.
Aito stated that the "outstanding hospitality" displayed by the French during the tournament had reminded British travellers of how good it was a holiday destination.
The organisation commented: "There really is no more agreeable short-haul European destination."
This comes after currency specialist HiFX stated that the imminent launch of a new high-speed rail link to France had led to overseas property buyers considering a purchase in the country.
Eurostar will begin operating its new route between St Pancras and Paris later this month, offering reduced journey times to passengers.
