France's tourism sector is set to directly benefit from Eurostar's new rail link to Paris, according to experts.
Travel company Thomas Cook believes that many British consumers will spend their Easter holidays taking city breaks in mainland Europe.
The firm has predicted that Paris will be one of the most popular destinations, as it is now one of the easiest places to reach.
Eurostar was credited with helping to attract visitors to the French capital, as it has recently introduced a high-speed rail link from London's newly-renovated St Pancras station.
The service, which was launched to the public in November, offers faster journey times than the previous route from Waterloo and has proved to be highly popular as a result.
According to currency specialist HiFX, the idea of quick passage between the two countries has even led to some people looking at relocating to France and commuting to work in the UK.
Thomas Cook commented: "Eurostar's recent move to St Pancras [makes Paris] more accessible throughout the UK."
