Lot area 'attracts plenty' of British buyers

The Midi-Pyrenees region of France attracts a large number of British property buyers, it has been stated.

In particular, investors are keen on the area around Lot, marketing and communications official for the Midi-Pyrenees Tourist Board Solenne Odon stated.

She said: "It has many charming villages such as Rocamadour and St-Cirq Lapopie which are very impressive. Cieurac is very popular for the wine so British people like it."

In addition to this, the district is just one hour's drive away from Toulon Airport, making it easily accessible, Ms Odon concluded.

According to the New in Midi-Pyrenees press pack, the region has the second highest share of the French property market for any landlocked department.

The pack also suggested that 2009 may raise the profile of Midi-Pyrenees as it is the International Year of Astronomy, a branch of science with which the area has a long association through its aeronautics and space industry connections.
