An increasing number of UK overseas buyers are favouring Normandy as a place to invest, due to its proximity to the UK.
Speaking to A Place in the Sun Magazine, Simon Conn of Conti Financial Services said that Britons are increasingly looking to buy abroad as this represents a "better investment opportunity" than purchasing in the UK.
He stated that the firm is seeing many people buying cheaper property overseas as they still cannot afford to get on the ladder in Britain, commenting: "People are either choosing to commute to the UK from areas like Normandy, or are making sure they get a foot on the ladder in another country."
The appeal of Normandy as a commuter destination is based on the fact that the Eurostar calls there.
Eurostar has advertised return tickets from the UK to continental destinations for prices it has labelled "fabulous deals".
These include travelling to Paris and back for £59 or Lille for £55.
