Now is good for French property, says expert

One of the co-founders of French real estate firm home-hunts.com has said the country remains a very good one in which to invest at present.

Responding to the suggestion that the market should be avoided, Francois Xavier de Vial told French Property News: "Contrary to what some people think, now is still a good time to buy French property," adding that with less buyers in the market, those selling homes have to price themselves competitively.

Meanwhile, the French Riviera remains highly popular, Mr de Vial's partner in the firm Tim Swannie said.

He stated that this was due to the region's "excellent climate, stunning scenery, easy access and glittering reputation".

French property firm VEF has said those who want to buy in France should consider four main issues.

These are how to fund their purchase, location, getting the best legal advice and engaging a good agent.
