Dubai's tourism industry is likely to receive an influx of new visitors after scheduled flights from India commenced last week.
Jet Airways has begun operating daily flights from both Mumbai and Delhi to the emirate.
The two services took to the skies for the first time on Friday and both were fully booked.
Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, Jet's chief executive officer, declared himself happy with initial sales and predicted that the routes would remain popular because of the large number of Indian citizens now working in the United Arab Emirates.
"Dubai is one of the most exciting cities in the world, which has traditionally been a very popular business, employment and leisure destination," added Mr Prock-Shauer.
Meanwhile, AirBlue has commenced a new four flights a week route between Abu Dhabi and Lahore.
The airline also has plans to operate services between Abu Dhabi and Islamabad, and Al Ain and Peshawar.
