The growing diversity of airline routes from the UK into areas in Italy has made a "massive impact" on the country's attraction to foreign investors, it is claimed.
According to Homes in Italy director Mark Slaviero, it was difficult to reach certain areas of Italy until a few a years ago, with routes into the southern part of the country and routes out of northern parts of England and Scotland proving problematic.
But the regional diversity of airline routes now available out of the UK into various regions in Italy and the opening of Brindisi and Bari airports in the south has brought both holidaymakers and investors to the country, he said.
"What you're finding now is the regional airports are opening up a lot more so you'll find Liverpool, for example, are doing flights to La Marca, which is great," Mr Slaviero added.
Low-cost international flights to isolated areas of Italy are leading to the emergence of mini markets with property price increases expected in areas such as Reggio de Calabria and Kamezia, which now have local airports.
